Ketton Lions play in the Cambs & Hunts Premier League on Saturdays with senior league cricket in the Rutland League on Sundays. New for 2016 is a 2nd team entered into the Hunts League on Saturdays. There is also a thriving youth section starting with under 9s, as well as a colts team and Friday night casual cricket. Ketton Cricket Club has been in existence for well over one hundred years. Originally located at Ketton Park before relocating to its current home in Pit Lane in 1951. The original wicket was uplifted by members of the team at this time and re-laid at its new home, turf by turf.  This type of team spirit and camaraderie has formed the back-bone of Ketton Cricket Club, and there is no doubt that cricket has been at the very heart of the village and village life throughout these years. Traditional old Ketton names such as Bird, Smith, Andrew, Walpole have regularly appeared in the  scorebooks, confirming the important role that cricket has played in the close community of the village. The facilities at Ketton today are the result of many years of hard work and dedication and Ketton’s Pit Lane home is without doubt one of the premier grounds in Rutland. In 2006 the Club decided to introduce Youth Cricket. This was an exciting development which resulted in renewed focus and ambition within the Club. The initial interest shown by local children was incredible and, as a result, all weather practice nets were installed to allow qualified coaches to develop the individual skills of youngsters. This inevitably led to teams playing Friendly and League Cricket across all age groups.
